Old Time Radio

Do you remember the sounds of objects falling in Fibber McGee and Molly's closet, the voice of "The Shadow," or the Ovaltine commercials for "Little Orphan Annie?" If you enjoyed those wonderful days of "old time radio," you'll love this seminar.

Larry Bergnach is an entertaining and humorous speaker who will recall those youthful days sitting around the radio and listening to our favorite comedy, mystery, or musical programs.

Larry will demonstrate some radio sound effects and will display radio memorabilia of the 30's, 40's and 50's - A time when radio was "king"! This program also includes loads of audience participation with dancing and singing to the music of the big name dance bands of that era.

Chicago's Riverview Park

All of us have great memories of Riverview Park, located until the 1960's at Belmont and Western Avenues. Let's relive the Bobs, Chute the Chutes, Aladdin Castle, Flying Turns, and two-cent day.

The Big Bands

Let’s go down memory lane and remember when music was music. There were bands like Glenn Miller and Artie Shaw or Tommy Dorsey and Harry James. In this seminar, we will talk about the oldies. Play some music and even share photographs.
